Called To Relationships
This is a touchy subject among believers, both genders. I wish I had the opportunity to share, with both men and women alike. To look at what God said, minus our personal opinions. I think the truth is being diluted, with all the different teachings. God knows that as humans we are weak, for sexual desires. We learn how to do that, if we don't learn anything else. People can't read or write, but they're sexual deviants. More money is spent on Pornography, and illicit sex. Than any other vice in our community. We don't want to pay for the things we need. Like childcare and utilities, for our home. But we spend mind boggling amounts, on things we don't. I have yet to hear anyone complain, about the price of a table dance, at a topless club. That or how much that xxx-rated video or magazine cost. Scripture tells us: Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Many of us, obviously have our hearts in our pants. This is God's word he has given, to bring us through these trying times. It's only human to experience these feelings.
1 Corinthians 7:2-5:
2Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
3Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
4The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
5Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Knowing that man will feel the way he does concerning lust. Here Paul instructs believers, on what they should do. To follow the will of God. We know as heterosexuals, it's natural to desire the opposite sex. The urges within our bodies, start when we are children. Since this is something we can't avoid. We must attack this issue with full force. Let every person have their own. You get yours, and I'll get mine. Contrary to popular belief. When you get married, you are not your own person. The wife's body belongs to her husband, and vice versa. Don't deny each other the pleasure, of each others company. Unless you are fasting and praying. You are to be as one. Don't leave room in your relationship, for infiltration. An idle mind is the devils workshop.
Passage 1 Corinthians 7:6-9:
6But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
7For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath h is proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
8I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I.
9But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
This is a bone of contention, in the body of Christ. Since Paul admits to this being his words, not those of the lord. Those not in possession of the holy spirit. Will take issue with this. This is a scripture everyone likes to avoid. Here Paul says, that it has been revealed to him. It would be better, if we didn't even have a mate. Everybody would act like priests, are supposed to behave. Lately we've discovered many of them have fallen short. He knows that most of us, won't have the devotion needed to accomplish this. Therefore the lord has made provisions. So it is better for you to get married, than to fornicate. To the single women keep it to yourself. Your goodies, if you know what I mean. If you aren't going to do it by the book. The book in question, being the "bible". You shouldn't do it at all.
Passage 1 Corinthians 7:10-15:
10And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
11But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
12But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
15But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
If you take on a spouse, your life changes. Here Paul establishes the authority, of his claim. Even though these are his words. The lord has put them in his spirit. In the eyes of God, most divorces are not legitimate. Man has come up with his own reasons, to grant a divorce. There is no such thing as irreconcilable differences. You can't leave them, just because you don't get along. Them not making enough money, is no excuse either. If they don't die, or abandon you. As a born again believer you have to stay with them, if they choose to remain with you.
